The Dreaded (Out of the Blue) Approach Still Lives

I was in the store today doing a little grocery shopping when I was approach by a gentleman. He asked me was I from around here…you know trying to make small talk.

In the midst of this, I am wondering why he has decided to interupt me. Because to be honest, I was pretty focused on what I was doing. So anyway, he talks a little longer that proceeds to ask me if I was open to an opportunity.

After talking to him and getting his card of course (because there is a better way), I started thinking about when I first started in MLM and was told to the house parties, approach people, cold calls, you know what I mean. I also remebered how they refered to these techniques as ‘duplicating success’.

Let’s get real…

I can’t begin to tell you about all the NO’s I recieved using this ’so-called’ duplicable system.

This is system is not duplicable by a long shot. Now I’m sure it was at one time (maybe back in the 60’s or 70’s) but today is a new day. No wonder the network marketing industry gets a bad wrap.

So here is what I discovered….

If you sponsor is teaching you these ‘old school’ techniques, then you are being set up for failure. You see, these strategies lack one MAJOR component – LEVERAGE!

Let me explain…

Network marketers are so concerned about ‘duplication’ that they are willing to try to duplicate anything. But it doesn’t take a genius to figure out that people hate to cold call and chase after people like puppies. Yet they continue to teach these methods (knowing they aren’t having much luck with them either) because they are trying to duplicate success.  WHAT SUCCESS?

Let me let you in on a little secret… a duplicable system is no longer duplicable if it’s not being duplicated.

So understand this, if you don’t like the ‘old school’ way of doing business then  your recruits won’t either. The fact is, it is not about duplicating set you up for failure stratigies. It is about duplicating what works. And I promise you, approaching people in the store is not it.

You must have control over you business. You have to put yourself in the drivers seat of your network marketing business by, not only, controling how you generate your own leads but how you interact with them.

The best way to do this is by leveraging yourself by using the internet. The internet has absolutely changed the way the world does business. It has leveled the playing field for all businesses, big and small.

By using the internet, you can generate your own leads, make money(even if people don’t join your business), and let the leads contact you. So instead of you chasing your leads, they are now chasing you.

It’s time to harness the real power of the internet to take your business to the next level.

Truly Happy or Just Role Playing?

‘Someone comes and asks you, ‘ How are you?’ and your response may be something like, ‘I’m great’! But do you really mean it. Are you truly happy or are you just role playing?

See in many cases, people are playing a role when it comes to there happiness. We have all been there. You may be having a bad day, a bad week, or even a bad year but you pretend that everything is fantastic. All of the depression, breakdowns, sadness, etc is covered up by a smiling facade. But Why?

So many times we supress or feelings in hope that they will go away and everything will be alright. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work that way. That is just to easy.

See if there is unhappiness in you, you first need to acknowledge that it is there. Investigate what is going on inside of you because the situation you are currently in may have something to do with it. If that is the case, action may be required to change the situation or remove yourself from it.

If for some reason you there is nothing you can do about it (for example if you lost your job), then you can either accept it or be miserable. See the primary cause of your unhappiness is never your the situation but your thoughts about it. You must be aware of what you are thinking and seperate them from the situation.

Being aware of what you think creates the emotions that you feel. Rather than let your thoughts and emotions control your actions, have awareness of your thinking patterns.

Don’t let unhappiness covers up the source of true happiness, your natural state of well-being and inner peace.

Mastering Your Personal Brand

When you think of people who have a great personal brand, Oprah Winfrey, Suze Orman, and Dani Johnson might come to mind. See each one of these people have built powerful personal brands that have propelled them to the top of their industries. But what have they done to master their personal brand?

Well like many other successful people, they took the time to connect, communicate, build, and protect their brands. Now there is no magic to this, there are just a few personal branding principals that should be followed to reach great success.

Principal #1  You already have your own personal brand whether you recognize it or not. Your brand is YOU! You are unique in your own way and it is up to you to improve, strengthen, and make changes to it as necessary.

Principal #2  Your personal brand exists in the minds of other people in the way they perceive, think, and feel about you. Think about someone you may have encountered in your life that you perceived as a hateful or negative person because of one interaction that you had or something someone else told you about them.  You may not even know this person very well or anything about them but you view them in a negative light. So it is critical to keep in mind that your personal brand is not what you think it is but what others perceive it to be.

Principal #3  A common misunderstanding with personal branding is that it is all about YOU but that is far from the truth. Even though personal branding is about representing yourself, it is also (very much) about your audience. It is about impacting and fulfilling a need of your audience.

Principal #4  Since your personal brand exists in the minds of your audience; the only way to determine if your brand is successful is to find out how you are perceived by your audience. If there is a gap between what your audience thinks and feels about you and what you want them to think and feel, then you personal brand should be adjusted and strengthened.

Principal #5  In order to have a strong personal brand you must define it. Until you define your personal brand, your brand will just be a vague premise with no real foundation. The definition of your brand should define what you stand for and who you are targeting.

Principal #6  To have a great brand, you must respond to both emotional and functional needs. You must be able to provide your prospects with the solutions they are looking for and be able to connect with them on a personal level.

Principal #7  The best personal brands are credible, so you must be able to prove that you can deliver what you promise. It is not enough just to say you can fulfill a need; you must show that you have the ability to do it.

Principal #8  Your personal brand is built every single day, 24/7 and 365 days a year, through what you say and what you do. Now this doesn’t mean that you won’t make mistakes. However, it does mean that you must think about the behaviors that might damage your brand.

Principal #9  Communicate your brand consistently. If you don’t communicate your brand, how in the world will you be able to represent your personal brand as a strong and sturdy brand?

Principal #10 Do not pretend to be someone you are not, Be YOURSELF! Pretending to be someone else is dishonest and consequently you will be unhappy. Not to mention, it is hard to be consistent with a fake personal brand. So you must find out what your audience needs and align those needs with your own unique strengths and traits.

These personal branding principals can be applied to your network marketing business and life not only to achieve your goals, but to surpass them.

Capture Attention With Your Videos

Video is, hands down, the most powerful and lasting form of marketing available to us today. There are hundreds of reasons why you NEED to be doing videos.

When making a video,you want to focus on the AIDA Video Formula. I have been teaching to my various students over the last couple of years. I recommend you memorize this formula. I learned it from Joe Vitale and I can tell you that it works.

AIDA means Attention, Interest, Desire and Action.

You only have a few seconds to grab the Attention of someone who has just clicked on your video. For that matter, you had to grab their attention just to get them to click on your video in the first place. And there is even somewhat of an art to that also.

So, there are several ways to grab someone’s attention when they first click on your video. I have a favorite and it has worked for me time and again. I will include it below. I am sure you can think of some additional ones. Feel free to list them in the comments below:

How To Grab Your Viewers ATTENTION

Ask your viewer questions that are relevant to the market where you anticipate your video being seen. For example, if you are doing a recruiting video that you anticipate sending to people who inquire about your business then you want to make sure that you speak directly to what a prospect is thinking as they are researching a business. You might say something like “I want to ask you 2 really important questions before I tell you why I made this video. First, why do you want to start a home based business…what are your top 5 reasons? And second, are you confident that you have the tools to succeed or will you need help from someone who is already doing what you want to do?” Those questions set up what could be a very powerful video that tells YOUR STORY. So you get their attention with something that gets their minds going in the direction you want them to go in. You cannot waste too much time. That leads me to…

How To Keep Their INTEREST

Once you have their attention you will need to use compelling and useful content to hold their interest as you move them towards coming to the obvious conclusion that they want to join you or buy from you. Again, there are no limits to how you do this. Some people tell stories. I personally like to use personal examples and incorporate a lot of My Story Marketing into my videos.

Do They DESIRE or want to be a part of your business

The idea of a video is to have your viewer DO something. For that to happen, they must have a DESIRE to own what you are promoting or do what you wish them to do. We call this knowing your “outcome”. An outcome is what you expect from the video in terms of action from the viewer.

***YOU MUST THINK THROUGH YOUR OUTCOME AND YOUR TARGET AUDIENCE PRIOR TO STARTING YOUR VIDEO***

We have seen some great people make the mistake of not focusing in on who their target viewer is and what they want that target viewer to do upon viewing. But before you turn on the camera, you should take a few minutes to figure this out. Your videos will be better and easier to make as a result of knowing these two key things. Again, know your target viewer (inside and out) and know what your desired outcome is.

Let me give you an example of what I am talking about. In the video below Danny knew that his target viewer was going to be people who were in an MLM called Reliv and that it would make it to the top page of Google for that keyword.

The title of the video is “Reliv Forbidden Training”. That grabs ATTENTION.

Notice the way he intentionally say things that would make a Reliv rep have to keep on viewing. And he puts in a lot of authentic My Story Marketing while keeping them on edge so that I can keep their INTEREST.

And it is through the process of telling his story that he starts telling what is possible when marketing a business using the web…that is creating DESIRE. And, of course, he wants them to take the ACTION of going to my website and or calling him.

He told me that this video has made him a lot of money (Over $5,000 so far) and I am sure it will continue to do so for a very long time.

Imagine if you could put out 10 videos that performed like that every month! And because he made the video for his target audience, 90% of the views have come from Google Search.

Remember the formula AIDA, when making your videos.

Will Smith Interview On Oprah – Living with Purpose

I had to post this video. I remember when I first seen this interview on Oprah, I immediately said to myself,”I have to share this with other people”. This is a powerful interview from the beginning to the end. Will talks about ‘living with purpose’ in a way that is contagious. At about 13 mins, he says something that you should use in every aspect of your life. If you have seen the interview, then you know what I am talking about. If you haven’t, then you should watch the video in full. It lasts about 20 mins but it is well worth your time. :) Enjoy!

Attraction Marketing 101

In this video I will speak about how attraction marketing really works and how you can use the power of your own life (my story marketing) to get the most out of it.

When you are settinf up your page, it is very important that you include videos. It can be videos done by other people that you enjoy and find helpful or videos of you or both. I highly suggest that you include a video from you welcoming people to your site. It makes it more personable. Remember your objective is to build relationships with these people.

Also, adding video is very powerful. By having video as well as print, you will be able to satisfy different people. Some people prefer to read others prefer video, so you want to have both but it is not neccessary.
 

My Story Marketing (MSM) is a HUGE asset in your business. If you haven’t written your story, then stop what you are doing and get started. MSM is the concept of attracting people that are like you and relate to you. Everyone has a story, an authenticty about them that no one else can duplicate. How you present yourself to the world is how the world reacts to you. If you want prospects chasing you, you must have a story. Take a look at the video by Danny Arrington on MSM. He explains it very well. Then go on to the next video and start building your story.

If your marketing consists of primarily promoting your business opportunity, through a replicated business opportunity website you will join the 95% of all home business marketing reps who spend more money on their business than they actually make.

Promoting your business opportunity is the fastest way to go broke!

So Before we get started, Do You Understand the Law of Attraction? Are You Using It in Your Life and Business? Danny will explain it in the video. It is very important to understand this concept before you can truly start attracting people into your business and life.

Law of attraction plays a Huge part in understanding how to attract people to you and how providing value makes you more attractive.

So what it means to add Massive Use Value?

Well, adding value does not have to mean that you are teaching an advanced marketing technique or doing live webinars or anything even close to that.

One of my mentor’s Danny explained it best, he said that Adding Massive Use Value is about finding your passion and having as much fun doing it as you can.

He added, I have a student named Frank Wall. He is in Monavie. He LOVES working out. The first time he called Danny he had NO CLUE how to do anything other than pitch, pitch and pitch some more. He could get so excited about Monavie! And you know what? He has a heart of gold. He really does believe in it. He is in amazing shape and says that his energy level is a result of drinking 2 oz’s per day. Who can argue with that? He is a walking billboard.

But guess what? NOBODY CARES! His family tells him they don’t want to hear about it. All of his friends are sick to death of it. His coworkers have all bought in and then fallen out on him.

He is making no money and it’s been over a year!!!

So he calls Danny and wants to know how Danny can help him. Danny told him to describe to his ideal life. He says I would work out everyday, own a gym, teach people to eat right and get in shape. PERFECT! Danny told him to start making videos that teach people how to work out. He looks at Danny like I am crazy.

How is that adding value and making me Monavie sales?

Danny said when you teach others how to improve their lives, they become fans and fans want to follow you and do whatever you do.

He didn’t believe it would work but did it anyway with some hesitation. It’s been 5 months and he now has people all over the country following him around begging to know how to get in the shape he is in, how to eat like him, how to work out like him. He is a legend in the minds of hundreds and hundreds of people.

Now, Frank Wall is at the top of Google for the keyword phrase ‘atlanta fitness expert’. His video is the first and second spots. He has realized the power of living your life NOW and has also adopted MSI (Multiple Streams of Income) by becoming an affiliate for some workout stuff. He is writing an ebook and has totally expanded his mindset.

So see adding value is different for everyone but this is a secret that very few network marketers will ever use. Why? They are too caught up thinking what’s in it for me instead of realizing that all you really have to do is go out there and give to others. They have a competitive mindset instead of a creative mindset.

They are focused on taking instead of giving. They have never experienced the success and fulfillment that is the result of having the heart of a servant.

One day about a year ago I was really struggling with adding value. My mind was blank about the whole idea of what it meant. So I asked myself a very empowering question and I have not stopped asking myself this question everyday since.

WHAT CAN I DO FOR OTHERS TODAY THAT WILL HELP THEM REALIZE THEIR DREAMS?

Without the right mindset success will always feel like that little engine that could chugging up a mountain, rather then effortless and easy like it should be.

There are 2 things that matter more to your success then anything else.

1. Marketing
2. Mindset

I have plenty of Marketing for you so in this section we’re going to go DEEP into the MINDSET of success.

So what do I mean by that? Quite simply I mean this…

You are creating YOUR reality all the time, whether you are conscious of it or not. The thoughts that you emit, the emotions that you feel, the attitudes you hold, and the beliefs you have are directly responsible for what you will bring into your life. You ever notice angry people seem to always hang around other angry people? Or did you ever fear something so much that you actually MADE it happen?

I KNOW we all experience these situations in our lives but too many times we let our awareness of them fly under the radar. We let our emotions and thoughts dictate our actions, rather then our actions dictating our emotions and thoughts.

Do you think people who make millions of dollars behave, think, act, or feel the same way as someone who struggles to pay the bills? I’m not saying either is better then the othe because I don’t believe that. But what I AM saying is that successful people have developed a certain mindset that will ATTRACT success into their lives. Their mindset is directly responsibility for their ability to create wealth and if you want to get wealthy, then it’s time to start working on that mindset RIGHT NOW. So what it is?

Here it is…

The success mindset is simply the knowledge that YOU are creating your own reality all the time. It’s becoming aware of yourself so much that you are ALWAYS emitting the kind of thoughts, feelings, and beliefs that WILL attract success into your life.

That’s it. But contained within that simplicity is a MASSIVE challenge!

It’s a challenge that is begging us all to GROW. And growth sometimes happens kicking and screaming but when we come out on the other end it’s worth all the effort in the world. When you truly learn how to effortlessly attract certain types of people in your lives, certain types of situations in your lives, or certain opportunities into your lives you possess the ability to make a FORTUNE.

This knowledge is directly responsible for EVERYTHING I have ever done. Even people reading this right now will resonate and FEEL it to be so true that I’m sure I will end up talking to many of you who want to learn more. It’s just that simple. What you put out, you get back.

So the key is making sure we are putting out REAL VALUE and we will get REAL VALUE back. So how do you put out real value? How do you become more valuable yourself?

Easy You Build Your Knowledge. You increase your value each time you develop a new skill, learn something you didn’t know before, make a new relationship or business partner, discover more about your self, or any other aspect of life that causes you to GROW. Each time you move forward in your own growth you become more valuable to other people.

Do you know why that is?

Because people are SEARCHING for real knowledge. And if you can be the one to provide them real knowledge they are going to come to you to get it. They will show up right on your doorstep, asking can you please teach me. And THAT is the position you want yourself to be in because Leaders make BIG MONEY in network marketing.

So here is what you can start doing today, start building your value more and more each day. You can read more, write more, take more classes, network with more people, go for nature hikes, meditate, go the gym, take a yoga class, develop a new marketing skill, educate yourself on changing technology whatever you do just build your knowledge and it will increase your value! And the more your value increases, the more money you will be able to make. It really is that simple in one sense.
